Russ also started as a barista in Washington, and has since spent time working for one of the world's largest coffee import/export companies, became a Q Grader, and started roasting with Passenger in March 2020.

Damian is one of those coffee professionals working behind the scenes who is as humble as he is legendary. Originally from Poland, Damian has worked with some of the most progressive coffee companies in Europe before moving to Canada. He is a partner at Nemesis Coffee and manages the sourcing and quality control for their roasting program, is a partner of Ratnagiri Estate and is launching Change of Tone Coffee to build and grow the Indian specialty coffee sector 🇮🇳 Damian is passionate about many things, and changing the perception of Indian coffee is high on that list. He will be giving you a crash course on Indian coffee and how to identify it on a cupping table 👀👅☕

Karla Boza is a specialty coffee producer and Q Grader at Finca San Antonio Amatepec in El Salvador who also helps her family build relationships with roasters around the world. This year, Karla was also selected to be a national judge for the El Salvador Cup of Excellence and cup her way through some of the best coffees in her country. On top of all of this, Karla is pursuing a Masters to research ways for coffee producers in El Salvador to access the specialty market to gain more autonomy and better market prices. "I use research to merge my passions for coffee, feminism, and transparency in the coffee industry." Karla will be giving you some tips on how to identify coffees from El Salvador in a blind tasting (is there one in this season? who knows...) 🙃☕
